Allen's double-double leads Virginia Tech past USC Upstate

Senior Jeff Allen had his way on Thursday afternoon in Blacksburg. The D.C. native scored 16 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, and most surprisingly, had no fouls, in the Hokies' 64-53 win over USC Upstate.

Erick Green, who has replaced Dorenzo Hudson for the rest of the year, continued his impressive play. Averaging just under eight points entering the contest, the guard scored 12 points, three dimes and no turnovers for VT (8-4). Green has not turned the ball over in 179 minutes of play.

As a team, Tech shot 45 percent from the field, but only 14 percent from deep for the game.

All-ACC guard Malcolm Delaney, who is now playing off the ball, led all scorers with 17.

Terrell Bell and Victor Davila each added six points.

Down seven late in the first half, the Hokies finished on a 16-4 to go up 34-29.

VT scored 24 points of turnovers compared to the Spartans' three.

Torrey Craig led the visitors with 12 points.
