Boggs departing Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech's Ben Boggs, a sophomore from Roanoke, will leave Blacksburg after the fall semester, coach Seth Greenberg announced on Tuesday.

"Ben have been a valuable member of our team the last two years," Greenberg said. "He has been a model student-athlete. I wish him nothing but the best and will be available to him as he pursues his next opportunity."

Boggs, who attended Hidden Valley, has appeared in only four games this season, averaging 1.3 points. He played in 25 games last year, averaging 2.2 points.

"I have enjoyed my time at Virginia Tech and would like to thank Coach Greenberg and the coaching staff for all they have done for me," Boggs said. "A desire for more playing time is the reason I'm leaving Virginia Tech. I will miss my teammates and wish them the best of luck in the future."
