Star RB commits to Virginia Tech

Harrisonburg High's Michael Holmes, who has over 6,000 career rushing yards at the school, committed to Frank Beamer and the Hokies. The 6'0 200 pound back ran for over 2,800 yards and 41 touchdowns on the year.
Holmes had 157 yards and three touchdowns in the 41-21 loss to Briar Wood in the Group AA Division 4 state championship.

Virginia Tech has been looking for running back talent with the potential departures of Darren Evans and Ryan Williams to the NFL draft. Behind them is sensational sophomore David Wilson and unproven freshman Tony Gregory.
