Tech demolishes Miss. State

Saturday night was to be the night of Renardo Sidney. The McDonalds All-American sophomore was finally eligible to play for the Bulldogs after being suspended for the first nine games of the season, in addition to all last season, for several violations in regards to his recruiting.

However, Saturday was all about the Hokies' shooting.

Malcolm Delaney scored 16 points and Erick Green, who started in place of Dorenzo Hudson, added 14 in an 88-57 thrashing of Miss. St.

VT shot 50 percent from the field, including nearly 36 percent from deep, making 9 of 25.

Jeff Allen added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Hudson scored 17 points of the bench, and Manny Atkins added ten in 13 minutes.

The Hokies outrebounded the Bulldogs 36-22.

Sidney finished with 12 points before fouling out.
