No timetable for Sherrill's return

There is no timetable for the return of Virginia forward Will Sherrill after fracturing his fibula in Monday night's victory over Minnesota in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Sherrill, the 6'9" 234-pound senior, went down in pain in the second half of Monday's game after Minnesota center Colton Iverson fell on top of him after a fight for a rebound. Sherrill was unable to put any weight on the leg and needed help exiting the floor.

"Unfortunately, he fractured his fibula. He'll come here and get some more tests and then we'll see how long it will take," Virginia coach Tony Bennett said.

Sherrill has averaged 6.3 points per game to go along with 3.4 rebounds this season. With the lack of size inside for the Cavaliers, there is no word on if Bennett and his staff will take the redshirt off of freshman James Johnson.

With the absence of Sherrill, freshman Akil Mitchell and Will Reagan will have to step up and play considerable minutes for the Cavs behind Mike Scott and Asane Sene.
