Two Cavs named to All-ACC Team

Two Virginia football players were honored with All-ACC selections on Monday.

Cornerback Chase Minnifield was named to the first team, while running back Keith Payne earned second-team honors.

Minnifield, who is a junior, became the first Virginia defensive back to earn first-team honors since standout Anthony Poindexter did so in 1998. He finished the season with six interceptions which was good enough for second in the ACC and sixth in the country.

Senior Keith Payne is the first Wahoo to be named to either the first or second team since Alvin Pearman was named to the first-team in 2004. Payne finished the season tallying 16 total touchdowns, including 14 on the ground to lead the ACC. He led Virginia in rushing, racking up 749 yards for the season and rushed for a career-high 121 yards against Duke.
